| China (mainland) ¡V LCD maker InnoLux Display Corp. revealed that it has invested $90 million in its affiliate in mainland China, which focuses on LCD-related products, back-end modules, LCD components and system manufacturing.
InnoLux reportedly allotted the said amount to support its LCD production this year. The maker revealed previously that it aims to ship at least 25 million LCD monitors in 2007, up 42 percent from last year's shipments of 17.5 million units. For LCD TVs, the maker targets shipments of 500,000 units this year, to further peak to 10 million units by 2009.
Late last year, InnoLux was able to begin volume production of 22in widescreen LCD monitor panels, and is developing 26in widescreen monitor panels. The latter product segment is expected to be volume-produced in this year's first half. |
